Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2 1984) was an American actor from the United States. She was nominated for the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards for her performance as Molly Solverson on the FX show Fargo's debut season. Tolman is the eldest of three siblings. She also has two older brothers. Her family relocated to England as she was just a few months old and stuck around until she turned four years old. After moving to Chicago Illinois she started her studies in acting in The Second City Training Center in 2009. Career In 2014, Tolman starred in the first season of the FX Black comedy crime drama Fargo. The show was inspired by the 1996 Coen brothers' film of the same name, Fargo starred veteran actors Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman received praise for her performance as Minnesota the Police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair said that Tolman "calmly took over" the film. Tolman received a Critics' Choice Television Award for her performance in the category Best Supporting Actress in the category of movies/ministries. In addition, her nominations in the category of Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes. It was also in the same year that it was revealed that Tolman is scheduled to make a guest appearance on The Mindy project as Abby Berman who is a romantic author. In 2015, she played a supporting part was played by Michael Dougherty in the film, horror-film Krampus. In the wake of her breakout performance on Fargo, Tolman declined several roles as moms wives, best friends and mothers seeking an unusual character. Tolman was cast in ABC's Downward Dog based off the Animal Media Group webseries. The show lasted for one year. Tolman has been a Twitter user, said that she earned "pretty amazing" results in her role in the ABC Drama Emergence. The show premiered in September of 2019, however, it was canceled after a season that ended on May 21, 2020. Also, she was an guest on the show on NBC called Good Girls.
